Symbol
A
symbol is something that stands for or represents another thing, especially an
object used to represent something abstract.
A
symbol is a person or a concept that represents, stands for or suggests
another idea, visual image, belief, action or
material entity. Symbols take the form of words,
sounds, gestures, ideas or visual images and are used to convey other ideas and
beliefs. For example, a red octagon may be a symbol for "STOP". On a
map, a blue line might represent a river. Numerals are symbols for numbers. Alphabetic letters may be symbols for
sounds. Personal names are symbols representing individuals. A red rose may symbolize
love and compassion.
Symbolism
is a new movement in art. In this regard painting as a reaction against
naturalism movement, where the movement naturalist movement prioritizes
reasonable or in accordance with the real thing. A person does not have to
depict reality carefully (naturalist), and every color, shape, and line but can
cause feelings or symbolic meaning.

Signs
A
sign is something we directly encounter, yet at the same time it refers to
something else. Thunder is a sign of rain. A punch in the nose is a sign of
anger. An arrow is a sign of whatever it points toward.
A
sign is an object, quality, event, or entity
whose presence or occurrence indicates the probable presence or occurrence of
something else.[1] A natural sign
bears a causal relation to its object—for instance, thunder
is a sign of storm, or medical symptoms signify a disease. A conventional sign signifies by
agreement, as a full stop signifies the end of a sentence;
similarly the words and expressions of a language,
as well as bodily gestures, can be regarded as signs, expressing particular meanings. The physical objects most
commonly referred to as signs (notices, road signs,
etc., collectively known as signage) generally inform or instruct using written text,
symbols,
pictures
or a combination of these.
Words
are also signs, but of a special kind. They are symbols. Unlike the examples
cited above, most symbols have no natural connection with the things they
describe. There’s nothing in the sound of the word kiss or anything visual in
the letters h-u-g that signifies an embrace. One could just as easily coin the
term snarf or clag to symbolize a close encounter of the romantic kind.
